Hot Mess Lit Book Review Policy
Welcome to Hot Mess Lit, where I am your chaotic host and books are devoured with zero patience for nonsense and full appreciation for raw storytelling. Before you send me a request, here’s what you need to know:
What I Read & Review

I read widely, but I lean toward bold, gritty, well-written books that don’t shy away from *real* emotions and experiences. If it’s got depth, humor, heart, or a little chaos, I’m in.
Bonus points for: Dark Romance and Edge play, Age gap where the woman is older

What I won’t review: Anything sugarcoated, preachy, or trying way too hard to be politically correct. If your book reads like a sanitized corporate memo, it’s not for me.
How I Review

My reviews are honest, unfiltered, and filled with personality. I’ll tell it like it is—no coddling, no fluff. If I love a book, you’ll hear me screaming about it. If I don’t? Well… let’s just say I’m not afraid to be brutally honest (but I won't be disrespectful or rude).

️ Ratings? Who needs ‘em? I break books down by memorable characters, compelling plot, writing style, and overall vibes. I’ll tell you whether it’s worth your time, your money, and your sanity. You may see things like:
"Would re-read"
"Loved it but might fight the author"
"Had potential but fizzled"
"Throw it in the firepit and move on"
How to Request a Review

Authors and publishers can request a review via email (hotmesslit@gmail.com)

Include the title, genre, a short blurb, and why you think Hot Mess Lit should care.

No guarantees! I pick books based on my mood, my schedule, and whether the premise actually excites me. If I’m not interested, I won’t pretend to be.
ARC Reviews & Deadlines

If you’re sending an ARC (Advance Reader Copy), I’ll do my best to read and review it before the release date, but I won’t be rushed. My time is my own and I owe you an exceptional ARC review (that being said, I've never misses a deadline in anything I've done).

I NEVER guarantee a positive review. I don’t do paid reviews, and I won’t lie just to keep an author happy.
Where Reviews Are Posted

Reviews appear on my blog, and sometimes TikTok (if the book is a vibe).

I may discuss books on social media, but I won’t cater my content just for marketing purposes. If a book sticks with me, I’ll talk about it. If it flops? Welp…
